The People Behind the Scenes...

KUDOS and Much Love to the Mutchlers!

Many thanks go out to Jane and Leo Mutchler, frequent Studio@620 volunteers.  They're a dynamic duo and Leo has really built up some sweat equity working not only to keep The Studio in fine shape, but also has taken it upon himself to tidy up the surrounding YWCA and WorkNet areas.  Keeping our community in top shape is hard work and we salute you!

Carl Lovgren and Sarah Hogan: Volunteers Extraordinaire!

You've probably had the pleasure of meeting both of these wonderful people as they both volunteer regularly at Studio events!

Carl has been behind the beverage table for quite some time, serving refreshments and training new volunteers, working double shifts, and making sure that the station is put to bed correctly for the next event.  Carl is always willing to come in at the last minute, dressed to "code" and always wearing that charming smile!  Usually Carl is among the first to fill in open volunteer slots as they come up on the schedule and has a perfect record running for tallying donation receipts at the end of the night.

Sarah comes in each Tuesday afternoon to staff the gallery and assist the Studio's small administrative staff with any task requested of her.  She is equally happy and comfortable whether upstairs doing detailed office chores or downstairs greeting visitors with her cheery demeanor.    She quickly signs up for volunteer shifts as soon as they become available and has been a regular fixture at the admissions/reception desk during events even with a prolonged foot injury requiring her to wear a "boot" on her leg.   With her lovely smile and good nature, she presents a wonderful face for The Studio@620 and is always promoting Studio events and programs.

The Studio@620 wants to say a big "THANK YOU" to both of them, we couldn't do it without you and your wonderful volunteer efforts!  We are grateful to have them both among our crew of volunteers and heartily thank everyone for their dedication.

Winnie Howell

Winnie HowellDevoted Head of Hospitality and Volunteers at the Studio@620, aka “620 Mom”, aka “baker of the world’s best apple pie”. If you feel at home and well nourished while visiting the studio, it’s usually because of Winnie. From the very beginning, our 620 Mom has been with the studio, recruiting and training volunteers and taking care of the details from arranging flowers to catering to moving furniture. For the first few years, she shared the studio office space and patiently transformed the office by day to catering kitchen by night. Her organization, cooking and decorating are works of art that you can experience almost daily at the Studio@620. Also, real life mom to Jim Howell - one of the creators of the Studio! If you are ready to work for free - Call Winnie!
