Four fun crafter-noon events, full of hands-on creativity
The Studio@620 and local artist Coralette Damme, aka The Crafty Hag, invite you to participate in the Dirty Hands Workshop Series. Four Sunday "crafter-noons" full of hands-on creativity. Choose one or attend them all, each will give you a brief introduction to a fun art activity that you can continue to pursue at home. Open to all ages and ability levels, participants under 17 must be joined by a participating adult. Class sizes are limited so sign up today!
About the instructor
Coralette Damme, aka The Crafty Hag, is a local artist and printmaker who believes art should be fun and can be a part of anyone's daily life. This series of workshops aims to encourage creativity and dissolve the mistique that art is lofty, unattainable, or inaccessible.

Session 1: Simple Silkscreen
Sunday February 7, from 1-5 PM
Take basic household items and use them to make silk screened cards and gifts. 
Each participant will be provided with basic materials and instruction to create a screen printed kitchen towel using an embroidery hoop and water proof glue. What To Bring: a black and white image to work from (i.e. shapes or a line drawing, not shades of gray) and extra items to print on, both paper and/or fabric, if desired. Limited to 12 participants
Session 2: Basic Block Printing
Sunday March 14, from 1-5 PM
Learn to carve your own simple blocks/rubber stamps for making cards and artwork at home! We'll learn the basics of relief printing with a "beginners" technique that produces great results. Easily carved rubber blocks substitute for wood or linoleum more commonly used. Cutting tools, blocks, and ink for printing will be provided. Participants should bring a black and white image to work from (4 x 6 inches or smaller - remember to reverse your image or it will print backwards), and extra paper or other items to print on if desired. You may also want to bring large ink stamp pads to experiment with.
Session 3: Mail Art
Sunday April 11, from 1-5 PM
Use a variety of repurposed materials to make art postcards to mail and learn about the network of mail artists that span the globe! 
Session 4: Artist Trading Cards
Sunday May 16, from 1-5 PM
Create your own Artist Trading Cards, which are restricted in size to 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. These mini-works can be traded and cherished. Learn about the ongoing ATC trend and be a part of it!
