Visions Dance Project

Program Overview

Visions Dance Project will be hosting a fundraising event in order to help provide developing artists in the Pinellas County Center for the Arts the opportunity to attend the National High School Dance Festival. Many if not all of the students that you are supporting will be dancing for you.

This is an experience that changes lives. Sir Brock Warren (PCCA alumni) is a living testament to this. He received a full scholarship to a prestigious dance college, The Boston Conservatory through his exposure at this festival.

Visions Dance Project

The Visions Dance Project was envisioned in 2007 as part of a Bright Futures Scholarship Community Project. The project was initiated by Shanelle Freeman and Sherrill Williams, juniors in the dance department at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts, Gibbs High School. The envisioned goal is to raise money for the economically deprived and disadvantaged dance student, helping them to gain exposure and recognition by some of the tops arts colleges and dance companies in the United States.

The Pinellas County Center for the Arts, Dance Department is in urgent need of financial assistance to take sixteen students, two teachers, and two chaperons to the National High School Dance Festival in Philadelphia, PA on March 12-15, 2008.
